Vidya Balan's Kahaani Movie Review Rating

Unlike contemporary heroines, Vidya is trying her hand at off-beat films, which now a days not only attract critical acclaim but ensnares moolah at the box office as well.

Producers of Vidya's previous movies went bonkers after the stupendous success of their respective films.

Her last few films have been trend-setters and myth breakers. Films like ' Paa', ' Ishqiya', ' No One Killed Jessica ' and ' The Dirty Picture ' have raised some eyebrows, offended others but mesmerized all.

What makes her achievement so endearing is the fact that she doesn't have any godfather in the film fraternity, nor does she belong to the clans of the Kapoors', Khans ' or Bachchan's.

Vidya Balan Kahaani Movie Review
The Plot
Like her past few films, ' Kahaani ' too is a female oriented movie which is likely to offer some novelty to the audiences.

People don't prefer reading reviews of a good thriller because they can tend to be spoilers. Rest assured, this will not ruin the suspense.

The Kahaani of ' Kahaani ' is that Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) is seven months ' pregnant when her husband goes missing at this crucial juncture.

She leaves her cozy life in London to embark on a journey to find him. In her delicate condition, she treads on the ruthless streets of ' Kolkata ' to find someone who can give her some clue about her husband's whereabouts. She is a perfect stranger in the city and has nobody to rely on.

Things get a little out of hand when she encounters some people who tell her that her husband doesn't exist and is merely a figment of her imagination.

Vidya's Comrades
'Kahaani ' is embellished by Vishal-Shekhars melodious music, Advaita Kalas spell bounding script, Setus titillating camera work, Namrata Raos crisp editing and Sujoy Ghoshs genius directorial skills.

Ghoshs narrative proficiency succeeds in bringing the audiences on the edge of their seats.

Vidya's flawless performance is icing on the cake. Her body language is consistent with the character's pains and fury.

Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Darshan Jariwala, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Indraneil Sengupta and Saswata Chatterjee have done full justice to their role and performed exceptionally well.

Vidya: The Obvious Number One
There is a hot debate over who is numero uno in the film industry, Kareena or Vidya. Given, Vidya's powerful performances in her last five flicks, there is no doubt she rightly deserves the coveted tiara.

Vidya is not afraid to venture in the realm of uncertainty as her risks always pay off. Through ' Kahaani ' Vidya has proved that it's definitely her, who reigns Bollywood now.
